To form an educational organisation dedicated to the exchange of ideas and dissemination of scientific and clinical knowledge concerning spinal disease and disorder, aspiring to be the peak body representing clinicians and researches in the management of spinal disorders in Australia;
To advance the quality of and encourage research into the management of spinal disease and disorder;
To improve the means of communication and support for those involved in the medical and scientific study and investigation and treatment of spinal disease and disorder;
To maintain prestigious status for the organisation and to obtain affiliation with other major national speciality associations and with International Spine Societies;
To provide education and training in spinal surgery and rehabilitation; and
To act as an advocate in respect of furthering scientific and clinical knowledge concerning spinal disease and disorder.
